Thinking of You! Embossing on Vellum

Hi Everyone:

Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday so far.  It's is hot here in Colorado, 91 degrees!!  Summer is definitely here and that is why I'm staying inside and being creative!

Today's card I used the technique of embossing on vellum.  I used my Cuttlebug and Sizzix Embossing folder and ran it through causing this great effect.

The color inspiration came from the designer paper I used as the background.  I used the Posy Punch stamp set from Stampin' Up for the flower in the corner with my Fried Brick distressing ink from Tim Holtz.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it!

Talk to you soon!

WISH!!! Paper Bag Mini Album

So after watching tons of tutorials on youtube for the Paper Bag Mini Album, I actually couldn't find just one I liked.  So after taking some notes of what I liked and disliked, I finally came up with a version of my own.

I used the paper from a clearance Melody Ross 8X8 paper pad that I had been hoarding for something special and I guess today was the day to use it.  I think it turned out pretty well.  I would do my own video tutorial on this, but it literally took me almost 5 hours to put this together the way I liked!!  Maybe one day......

Thanks for looking and hope you all have a great weekend!!

P.S.  Here is the link to the video for the album.  It's not a tutorial, but it shows what I used and the inside of the album.  Enjoy!!

News, Cards, and More Cards!

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone is a having a wonderful day!  It's almost the weekend and I'm super excited for it because my husband and I are going to be volunteering at the Wild Life Sanctuary here in Keensburg, Colorado.  I'll make sure to have lots of pictures from the tour afterwards.

Couple of new things:

1.)  I had to quit my position as a Scrapbooking instructor at Michael's.  I know, sad, right ??!!  I really enjoyed it, but I just didn't have any time for my family with doing that also.  It was fun while it lasted though!!

2.)  I started a new group over on Facebook.  It's called "Crafty Crafters Showcase!"  It's a group of people that showcase their talents and creativity.  We have a Blog Roll where everyone gives their blog address so people can visit and subscribe.  We will have monthly member showcases, where the admins will randomly pick member to showcase their awesome talents.  I'm pretty excited about it!!

I have been in an excellent creating mood lately and I have a couple of cards to show off.

Then I have this card:

And then there is today's Card:  My inspiration for this card came from The Play Date Cafe's Color Challenge.   This week's suggested colors were:

Apricot...Canary...Latte...Rose

Here is my take on the challenge:

Here are the supplies I used on this card:

It's been a long time....

Hi Everyone!!

I know, I know.  Where the heck have I been???!!  Well, let me tell you a little story.

It all starts out when one day Christy D. decides to become a Michael's Arts and Crafts employee on top of my 40 hour a week job. AAACCCKKKK!!  I know, I'm crazy, but we already knew that, right ?  I'm officially a Certified Scapbooking Instructor through EK Success' program, Spotted Canary School.

So I have been busy making class demos and promoting my classes.

Here is a pic of me at my first Demonstrators Open House at Michael's....

Here are a couple of the classes that I offer there....

This is the Flower WOW! class.  I teach the students how to make several types of flowers all out of paper.  LOVE THIS CLASS!!

This was a demo I made for the new Smooch Sprays.  I demonstrated the masking technique for the background.  The students really loved it.

This is the Card Tricks - Punched Class.  I show the students how to make five cards by using one paper punch.  These were the Valentine's Day Cards.

This is the Sketch-Out class.  I show the students how to make two different layouts and two cards in this class.  This is the first layout.

These are my examples for the Spotted Canary Classes a.k.a.  Scrapbooking Classes.  I teach the students all the fundamentals of scrapbooking.  This is a 4-week class.

When I'm not at Michael's or my cake decorating class, I actually do get to work on some of my own creations!!

This is a card I made for my husband's cousin.  They got married in December. (I know....took me long enough to blog about it!)...

I still have a couple of other items that I have made for classes or my own creations, but that is for another post!

Hope you are having a great day!  Thanks for reading!
